Eddy Current Separator uses a magnetic rotor, positioned and spinning inside a non-metallic drum driven by a conveyor belt. Now, shredded aluminum cables are fed onto the conveyor belt, which moves the materials across the magnetic rotor where the separation occurs.

When the shredded aluminum cables pass over the drum, the alternating magnetic fields create an eddy current, which causes a magnetic field inside the material.

Furthermore, this magnetic field repels the alternating magnetic field of the rotor, which repels material away from the running conveyor belt.

Here, the non-ferrous metals are discharged out over a splitter box, and other materials are discharged at the end of the conveyor belt.
