Double Drum Magnetic Separator consists of a stationary permanent magnetic assembly that has a uniform and long-lasting magnetic field across the drum’s entire width.

The non-magnetic stainless steel drum shell revolves around the magnetic field. The material is fed evenly from the chute and falls over the drum, where powerful magnets attract ferrous particles and hold them in the rotating shell.

While the ferrous particles are firmly held, the revolving shell carries the iron particles through the stationary magnetic field and lets the non-magnetic material falls freely away from the shell.

How Double Drum Magnetic Separator separate iron from stainless steel?

Stainless steel materials are fed onto the top of the Drum Magnet, where magnetically susceptible materials such as irons are attracted to the magnetic field of the stationary internal magnetic system and held to the rotating shell surface of the Drum Magnet.

The revolving shell transports the iron particles out of the magnetic field, where they are discharged into a receiving conveyor or collection area. The non-magnetic material is unaffected and flows under a normal trajectory.
